USA Wrestling’s National Duals and Fargo (Junior and 16U Nationals) are two culminating events for Team Wisconsin! The best freestyle and Greco wrestlers in the state are tested against the rest of the nation, individually and as a team. Wrestlers must adhere to the team selection outlined below.
NATIONAL DUALS
National Duals are age-level USA Wrestling events in June. Interested athletes must complete the appropriate form for their age group by the posted deadline.
Boys 14U National Duals, June 10-16, Oaks, Pennsylvania
The MFS and GR 14U National Dual Team is determined by the highest placer at freestyle and Greco state. Wrestlers will compete in both styles. The final team is determined by Scott Kluever and Tony Schaaf. Interested athletes must complete the 14U roster form after the WWF state tournament. Mens 16U National Duals, June 11-16, Herriman, Utah
The MFS and GR 16U National Dual Team is determined by the highest placer at freestyle and Greco state. Wisconsin will bring one team for each style this season. Mens Junior National Duals, June 18-23, Tulsa, Oklahoma
he MFS and GR Junior National Dual Team will be determined using USA Wrestling’s Performance Index Rating. The PI report, which measures consistency over time and rates the probability of wins based a wrestler’s body of work, will be run after freestyle/Greco State. The PI system uses historical data from all USAW sanctioned freestyle and Greco events. Interested athletes must complete the Juniors roster form after the WWF state tournament. Girls 14U and Girls 16U National Duals, June 19-22, Westfield, Indiana
The 16U division is NEW this season and will travel with the 14U team to compete in Westfield, Indiana. Both teams are selected based on placement at these events, in the following order: 1) Women’s Nationals, 2) WWF Freestyle State tournament and 3) Northern Plains. The 14U team will use the WWF Girls Folkstyle State tournament as a 4th criterion. Coach Koontz will make the final roster determination. Womens Junior National Duals, June 18-21, Tulsa, Oklahoma

FARGO
Fargo, or the USMC Junior and 16U Nationals, has grown to be the largest event worldwide. Teams from across the U.S. compete for individual and team titles in men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman. Last year Wisconsin had 38 All-Americans at Fargo, including six champions and six runners-up. Men’s freestyle tied the national record for most junior champions in a single year and had the best team result in Wisconsin history with their 2nd place finish overall. All six Wisconsin teams placed in the top 10. Registration opens here on May 8th.
Team selection: Team Wisconsin MFS, WFS and GR have the same qualifying criteria. Athletes can auto-qualify by placing at the national-level USA Wrestling events below, or by placing in the top three at the Freestyle or Greco State Championships. There will be a minimum of 1 spot open for wrestle-offs at the pre-Fargo camps in River Falls.
